Dreams from My Father: A Story of Race and Inheritance by Barack Obama

Beautifully written, if somewhat overwrought at times. Written before Barack Obama had any presidential aspirations (and it's obvious in his plainspoken accounts of the drug use, drinking and smoking of his youth), this book is a moving account of a man between standing between worlds trying to find his place. It was great fun to read in the final days of the campaign that would make the author the President of the United States.
